I would rather live in a house as I would be able to do almost anything I want without disturbing other people. What I mean is when you live in a flat, even if you speak loudly, your neighbours start complaining. But when you live in a house, you can listen to music, laugh, dance and, if you do it with a reasonable amount of consideration, no one will even notice anything.
