Parents can give advice, but letting teenagers decide these things makes them feel independent. I also believe friendships are something teenagers should decide for themselves, because the people around them shape their character. Having supportive friends can make a huge difference during those years. Of course, not every decision should be left completely to teenagers, but some choices are important for their growth. In the end, these decisions teach them responsibility and prepare them for adult life.
