Are there any wild animals in the city? (added on 4 October 2025)
Vocabulary hozircha yo‘q.
  • yes:
  • some cities still have wild animals like foxes, hedgehogs, or raccoons that come out at night to look for food in bins
  • birds like pigeons, crows, and seagulls are everywhere (they’ve learned to live around people and survive easily in cities)
  • parks and rivers often attract animals such as ducks, squirrels, and sometimes even beavers or deer, depending on the country
  • some cities near forests or mountains sometimes get wild visitors, like bears or wild boars wandering in by accident
  • cats and dogs that live on the streets are technically wild too, even though people are used to seeing them
  • no:
  • most big cities don’t really have wild animals because there’s too much noise, pollution, and traffic
  • urban areas are built up, so animals don’t have space or natural food (they move to forests or countryside instead)
  • even if there are a few, they usually hide during the day, so most people never see them
  • many animals can’t survive in cities because of cars, lack of clean water, or people feeding them unhealthy food
  • cities have become more about pets than wild animals (the only things we usually see are cats, dogs, or birds)
Yeah, there are some wild animals in the city, but not many. In most places you can see things like pigeons, crows, or seagulls. They’re basically everywhere and they’ve learned to live around people. In parks, there are often squirrels and ducks, and sometimes even foxes or raccoons that come out at night to look for food in bins. In some countries, especially where cities are close to forests, you can even get deer or wild boars wandering in by accident. But I wouldn’t say cities are full of wildlife. There’s just too much traffic, noise, and pollution, and most animals don’t really like that. They prefer quiet, natural places where they can find food and feel safe. In big cities there’s almost no space for that. Everything is covered with buildings, roads, and lights. Even small animals struggle to find proper food or clean water. And when some wild animals do come into the city, they usually keep to themselves. They come out late at night when it’s empty and quiet, and hide again during the day, so most people never even notice them. It’s kind of their way of surviving in a place that’s not really made for them.
