One more advantage of continuous learning new things, to my mind, is a feeling of accomplishment, which boosts people's confidence in their own capabilities and makes it easier for them to step out of their comfort zone and move up the career ladder or adapt to unexpected changes such as losing their job or having to depend on new skills to find a new job. So, yeah, adults must want to constantly learn new things, especially if they want to remain relevant to their industry.
